The opportunity:

This position is responsible for Service Manager ITSM tool implementation/upgrade, integration, enhancement and administration in support of ITIL processes and continual service improvement initiatives. This role focuses primarily on Service Manager tool support and requires collaboration with cross functional teams to define the capabilities and solutions while ensuring that outcomes comply with the enterprise architectural vision, quality, and security standards of OpenText. They will help define how capabilities can/should be built and will support timely delivery of those capabilities and solutions including participating in planning and requirement sessions with business owners and product managers to ensure greatest value for our customers and alignment with overall business strategy.

You are great at:

• Interact with Business representatives to ensure their requirements are being met within the framework of the tools available
• Develop solutions that align to business requirements while meeting time and cost constraints
• Provide 3rd level expertise to our end users
• Participate in production deployments and occasional support
• Adhere to IT Change Management and other ITIL best practices

What it takes:

• • A Bachelor’s degree, College diploma or equivalent experience
• Ideally ITIL v3/v4 Foundations Certified
• Service Manager Application Developer experience
• Extensive experience developing and configuring solutions using more-recent versions of Service Manager and providing integrations to 3rd party systems (e.g., using ConnectIT, Process Designer, RESTAPI, etc.)
• Understanding of ITIL Processes and their implementation in support of cross functional services (e.g., Knowledge Management, Change/Release Management, Incident/Request Management, Problem Management, Service Catalog, etc.)
• Service Manager Administrative experience and ability to facilitate critical technical analysis/resolution
• Very comfortable working with the infrastructure associated with running Service Manager (e.g., understands, at a detailed level, the architectural dependencies of technologies in use)
• Microsoft Windows Server and RHEL Linux OS experience
• General programming background in areas such as SQL and development language skills (e.g., JavaScript, Java, .NET, PERL, Python, PHP, PowerShell etc.)
• Ability to work with users at all levels to define system requirements, design and system topology to meet operational needs and system performance objectives
• Working knowledge of other relevant ITIL/ITSM/ITAM software packages (e.g., uCMDB, Asset Manager, ServiceNow and/or discovery tools such as OCS Inventory NG would be preferred)
• Ability to quickly learn new technologies
• Excellent communicator and collaborator, capable of working independently with limited supervision based on established processes
• Ability to conduct solutions evaluation, engineering, development, integration, testing, release and supporting documentation
• Capable of working on multiple projects, resolve conflicting requests, and adapting to changing requirements and priorities
