The opportunity:

Reporting directly to the VP, Data Privacy & Compliance, this role provides support to management for overall global privacy requests that emerge, including those surrounding GDPR. To be successful in this role, you need to take initiative, be able to work independently and demonstrated attention to detail. It will be an asset if you’re familiar with the technology industry and the nature of its data processing activities and privacy legislation.

You are great at:

• Support the VP, Data Privacy & Compliance with tracking and execution of privacy requests received by the company
• Research global data protection laws and policies, review privacy impact assessments, and other relevant data protection activities requested by the VP, Data Privacy & Compliance
• Review remediation plan for privacy risks to confirm sufficiency to address the risk
• Maintain master records of processing activities (ROPAs)
• Assist in preparation of reports and presentations on compliance with global data protection legislation and regulations
• Prepare a variety of correspondence including letters, reports, statistics, summaries and checklists to support the privacy processes
• Maintain a record of ongoing activities and a schedule of deadlines for the various aspects of the process and data privacy projects;
• Support and coordinate activities that foster information privacy awareness within the organization
• Support with the creation and administration of processes for investigating and acting on privacy complaints and/or issue handling
• Assist with development of initial and ongoing privacy training to the workforce
• Provide support to special projects or other areas within the team
• Perform related duties as assigned

What it takes:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, IT or related vocations
• 2 to 5 years’ experience in administrator role with experience in a related area such as Information Security, Compliance, Privacy, Audit or Risk Management
• Familiarity and/or experience with international privacy laws would be an asset
• Experience working collaboratively and effectively with cross-functional teams
• Proven ability to work under pressure in order to meet frequent deadlines
• Ability to collect, collate and organize information with demonstrated attention to detail
• Strong communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
• Strong research, analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to take initiative and work independently
• Demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy of results
• Demonstrated strength in working in a high change environment
• Proficient computer skills including, word processing, spreadsheet and database applications, records management classification system and email
