The opportunity:

Reporting directly to the global Group Data Protection Officer (DPO), this role provides assistance to the DPO in supporting OpenText’s customers and partners on their respective data protection requirements. To be successful in this role, you need to take initiative, be able to work independently and demonstrated attention to detail. It will be an asset if you’re familiar with data protection legislation in the technology industry and the nature of its data processing activities in cloud services.

You are great at:

• Support the DPO and VP, Data Privacy & Compliance with tracking and execution of privacy requests received by the company
• Maintain a knowledge base with Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ’s) about OpenText’s privacy and data protection framework and compliance program
• Maintain a repository of artifacts to demonstrate OpenText’s compliance to data protection legislation and contractual obligations
• Respond to prospect / customer questions from OpenText customer facing teams or other functions
• Review and make recommendations to privacy and data protection contractual clauses including Data Processing Agreements (DPA’s)
• Maintain a register of executed DPA’s
• Develop recommendation for process improvements in support of the Global Privacy & Compliance program

What it takes:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Business, IT or related vocations
• CIPP, CIPM, CISA, CISM, CISSP or similar accreditation would be beneficial
• At least 4 years’ experience in a professional role with knowledge in a related area such as privacy, data protection, data governance, information security, compliance, audit or risk management
• Familiarity and experience with international privacy laws such as the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is an important asset
• Experience working collaboratively and effectively with cross-functional teams
• Proven ability to work under pressure in order to meet frequent deadlines
• Ability to collect, collate and organize information with demonstrated attention to detail
• Strong communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
• Strong research, analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to take initiative and work independently
• Demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy of results
• Demonstrated strength in working in a high change environment
• Proficient computer skills including, word processing, spreadsheet and database applications, records management classification system and email
