The opportunity:

The IT Asset Tool Administration lead is responsible for administering the IT inventory and asset management tool and system at Opentext. Includes but not limited to those items outlined in the main responsibilities.

OpenText Enterprise Information Management (EIM) technologies and business solutions. It facilitates organizations to take full advantage of enterprise information to gain better business insight, capitalize on opportunities to positively impact the business, improve process velocity, reduce risks related to information governance, and protect sensitive information and intellectual property from internal leaks and external threats.#LI-POST

You are great at:

Install and configure HP Asset manager as well as implementing integrations between HP Asset Manager and other HP and non-HP tools installed at OpenText, Inc.

Work with stakeholders to define technical requirements for integrations and tailoring required, in accordance with best practices.

Contribute to the Asset Manager Technical Design Document.

Contribute and author As-Built documentation and maintain that documentation, including system Runbook and the Data Dictionary.

Acts independently based on process guidance and direction from the Asset Manager but in Coordination and under the standards of our Global Tools Administrators.

Support Asset Management Process Administrators who perform the following at OpenText.:

Interpret and maintain an accurate inventory of Software contracts, entitlements and inventory information associated with the Software Assets

Interpret and maintain an accurate Hardware inventory, Support Contracts, Ownership, entitlement and inventory information associated with the Infrastructure and Personal Commuting Assets

Coordinate, analyze and prepare reports/presentations focused on software license positions/usage, compliance inquiries.

Coordinate, analyze and prepare reports/presentations focused on Hardware Inventory, allocation for ownership, usage and compliance inquiries.

Establish and monitor process controls supporting the Software and Hardware Asset management processes and associated sub processes.

Establishing strong working relationships with Vendor Management and internal IT technology teams supporting the overall Software and Hardware Asset lifecycle.

Asset Management Reporting: Produce and respond to compliance reports.

Provide expertise in ensuring that software license contracts and agreements, software licenses and software installations and associated linkages are reflected correctly in the ITAM / Software; ensure that software license records are linked to the correct hardware device

Provide installation and license compliance status reports to management, Procurement team and end users (as needed)
RELATIONSHIP WITH OTHER JOBS/ORGANIZATIONS:

This role interacts and implements complex strategic plans, Systems and data structures with technical staff, organizational leaders and business teams as well as with external customers and partners.

Interacts at all levels of the organization.

Receives strategic and professional direction from the Asset and Configuration Manager and coordinates with the Corporate Tools Administrators, Configuration Team Lead and teams within the Service Management organization.

Coordinates directly with externally led Service Management process teams and staff to meet IT goals and compliance.

Education and Experience:

- Bachelor's degree or equivalent 5+ years’ broad IT experience
- Demonstrated knowledge of IT Asset Management concepts and practices.

Industry Experience:

Senior level experience administering and implementing the HP Asset Manager repository

Knowledge of common Asset Management Repository and or similar tools

Ability to document requirements and assist in developing or changing the Asset Management Plan

5+ years’ broad IT experience

3+ years’ experience working within a software and hardware asset management program within a large enterprise

Proven experience managing systems that maintained software license models, contracts, entitlements across major software vendors NOTE: Significant focus on Oracle, IBM, Microsoft software.

Strong Analytic skills

Ability to perform data analysis working across multiple application and database systems to drive underlying data and systems improvements.

Proven experience working with IT Asset Management and Discovery technologies supporting Software and Hardware Asset Management
