The Opportunity: 

The Global Human Resources Organizational Effectiveness and Learning team provides leadership development that supports OpenText’s corporate mission, vision and values. The team’s mandate focuses primarily on the design, development and delivery of corporate blended learning solutions, in collaboration with various lines of business on other relevant learning opportunities. The team manages all content through the organization’s Learning Management System.
The Senior Leadership Development (LD) Facilitator is responsible for the global delivery, development, and implementation of corporate-wide programs utilizing adult learning methodologies. This role works collaboratively with all levels of Leaders, Subject Matter Experts as well as colleagues on the OE & Learning team and Human Resources (HR). This role will help assess development needs, design effective learning solutions to educate and enhance leadership performance. This is a one year contract position.

You are great at: 

  • Facilitating corporate wide leadership programs and linking learning solutions with performance and the effectiveness of leading at OpenText.
  • Managing the design and development of learning programs by using various forms of adult learning methodologies such as Bloom Taxonomy of Learning and instructional design principles as well as determine the learning requirements and goals with performance consulting approach.
  • Applying seasoned expertise to analyze needs, expectations of target audience, structure, systems, and processes as well as cultural requirements to determine appropriate learning solutions to meet the changing needs of OpenText i.e. e-learning, classroom, event , etc.
  • Applying advanced project management estimate resources required; develop thorough learning plan with evaluation methodology such as Kirkpatrick model to ensure maximum return and sustained learning retention and application.
  • Building and managing strong strategic relationships with senior level Executives and leaders and liaising with stakeholders to reinforce application of program content.
  • Working closely with senior level executives to conduct detailed needs assessment and identifies best solutions for the business unit and working with Corporate branding guidelines to design and develop learning materials for review and approval.
  • Designing and developing several forms of e-learning content including storyboard depicting script and narratives as well as print documentation 
  • Working closely with the Training Manager to update e-learning templates and content on the Learning Management System (Learning Central).

What it takes: 

  • Three to five years of corporate training and facilitation or relevant experience.
  • Excellent understanding and knowledge in the areas of leadership, performance and change management.
  • Knowledge of best practices in adult learning and evaluation including virtual training as well as on line education (eLearning).
  • Knowledge and experience in learning design theory and methodology with a focus on leadership development and behavioural/change management programs.
  • Experience in a leadership role with proven leadership, coaching and team building skills. 
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems. 
  • Knowledge and application of project management and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite of applications (Word, Excel, Powerpoint); Articulate Presenter; Storyline; Adobe and other digital multimedia learning applications (Flash, audio, video programming)
  • University degree or equivalent.   Adult Education degree or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Please note this is a 14 month contract position

  • Up to 50% travel to other office locations globally
  • May be required to work evenings, weekends and/or statutory holidays
