The Open Text Professional Services team is comprised of more than 3,000 consultants who act as trusted advisors, managing long-lasting relationships with more than 100,000 customers around the world. As an Open Text consultant, you will work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and you will be recognised as a subject matter expert within the Enterprise Information Management space. Our experts also frequently have the opportunity to take part in international assignments. From supporting your customer with the implementation of systems and optimization of our products, to conducting workshops on best practices, you will be travelling to different sites and there are never two days that look exactly the same.
 
The OpenText Experience Suite is a comprehensive foundational Customer Experience Management (CEM) platform that enables organizations to create, curate and manage media, web, documents and any other digital assets that need to be presented to an audience.
The implementation of CEM platform components requires careful evaluation of customer requirements and sophisticated implementation services based on a fundamental understanding of web technologies. 
OpenText France is looking to strengthen its Professional Services Customer Experience Management (CEM) team around Media Management and Web Experience Management products with experienced Consultants and Developers. Typical projects you would be involved in include Digital Asset Management and Workflow Automation, WEM.

The Opportunity:

The role we have is for a Senior Technical Consultant to join our CEM Professional Services Practice in EMEA based in our Paris office. As a member of the Professional Services Group you will work directly with French and other EMEA-based customers, leading implementations of OT Media Management and Web Experience Management solutions. The role requires a blend of strong technical skills and excellent business acumen and would suit a seasoned technical consultant or someone wanting to move from a purely s/w development role into one that is more client facing, but still highly technical.

It’s important you are comfortable interacting with both business and technical team members, utilising consulting and hands-on development skill sets and can demonstrate good project management skills.

You are great at:

Working directly with clients to translate their business requirements into coherent and pragmatic technical requirements definitions 
Provide trusted knowledge and guidance to both clients and internal teams
Design, document and implement agreed solutions
Use project management and business judgement skills on a daily basis to ensure risks are managed and client satisfaction achieved
Feed into our continual product improvement process by working closely with Product Management, Engineering and Support to present new ideas, client feedback and identify software issues
Assisting the Sales team by the provision of technical expertise in pre-sales scenarios
Adjusting to rapid changes where the business direction requires it. As an example this may involve POC implementations and estimates at short notice. 
What it takes:
The confidence, communication and interpersonal skills to guide customers, from technical personnel to C-level executives 
Strong troubleshooting/problem solving skills 
Able to maintain focus on multiple projects simultaneously 
Able to travel occasionally in France & EMEA, if required
Software development background

Technical skills:

o Java/J2EE experience
o Strong experience with Java, Javascript, CMS frameworks, Application Server (weblogic, websphere), Tomcat 
o Strong experience with popular Java Stacks (Spring, Hibernate, XML Parsing…)
o Experience of gathering functional and technical requirements, specifying, designing and implementing solutions with mastery of software architecture and consulting.
o A strong understanding of Application Architecture, High level and Low level design, Middleware/Application Servers and Infrastructure & the ability to look at product architectural documents and identify potential issues
o Proven experience of software development and configuration experience with strong hands-on skills, solid understanding of architecture and design patterns
o Responsive design
o Native and web based platform/application development 
o Fundamentally good programming and debugging skills
o Building and consuming webservices (using RESTful APIs)
o Understanding of performance and security in the enterprise context
o Proficiency with Web Services, SOAP, WSDL and XML, XML Schema and XPath 
o Profiling tools experience
o Excellent knowledge and experience working of IT infrastructure, networking and Oracle/SQL database layers
o Mastery of Windows (both desktop and server) and Linux and UNIX-based operating systems, with the ability to perform extensive administrative tasks

Consulting skills:

o Operational skills to understand the business context, animate workshops, architect, design, estimate, assist, advise, develop, troubleshoot, manage partners teams.
o Excellent communication skills that will promote trust and clarity with customers and at all levels
o Commercial awareness that will drive OpenText revenue
o Planning skills that will drive customer adoption of OpenText technology across the organisation
o Business Development skills with demonstrable experience of farming user bases and new customers
o Time management skills that will enable projects to be delivered on time and on budget
o Strong learning and analytical skills and effective problem solving
o Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
o Experience liaising with groups of people across several geographies
o Willingness to work away from home on customer sites when required across the EMEA. Occasional foreign travel may be required.
