The opportunity:

The Professional Services (PS) Content Practice manager is the business leader within the consulting team. The PS Content Practice manager works directly with the delivery team to select and close high-impact, professional services engagements. The PS Content Practice manager is responsible for closing and delivering $8 million to $10 million of professional services work annually.

You are great at:

The PS Content Practice manager develops and directs client engagements. Following is a summary of a PS Content Practice manager’s client-specific responsibilities:
Provide the solution vision to the professional services team in a manner that allows the team to initiate and complete the engagements to meet or exceed client expectations
Monitor the status of the engagements on a weekly basis to ensure client satisfaction, revenue commitments and margin realization
Review weekly status reports to provide guidance to the Professional Services Managers that will ensure successful project completion
Drive resolution of critical project issues to maintain project momentum and proved superior client value
Complete high-quality written deliverable that are free from typographic and grammatical errors, and assist others on a team with completions of deliverables at the same level of quality
Keep the Regional Vice President Professional Services apprised of changes in client status that may affect revenue, margin or customer satisfaction
Develop the skills of the Professional Services consultants and project managers to increase leverage across accounts and to promote from within the organization
Develop strong working relationships with client executive personnel and maintain appropriate communication to ensure high customer satisfaction, project continuity, increasing license use and/or ongoing consulting participation
PS Content Practice managers also participate in or lead internal activities and will have certain internal administrative responsibilities. Following are the internal responsibilities for PS Content Practice managers:
Complete all required internal documentation, including timesheets, status reports, and expense reports on a timely basis
Audit project team member time sheets to ensure all hours are being reported accurately and completely and all expenses reported are reasonable and adhere to Quest and/or client guidelines
Attend scheduled training courses to continue to develop OpenText solution knowledge
Participate in revenue forecasting meetings, providing timely information and preparing, proactively, approaches to drive to targeted revenues and margins
Participate in bi-weekly staff meetings to continue the development of high-quality consulting organization
Pro-actively identify ideas to improve professional services operations, initiate action, and lead to successful completion

What it takes:

At least two years prior experience closing and directing engagements totaling at least $1 million in annual fees
Experience with formal, structured testing techniques required
Commands a knowledge of document management, knowledge management, and web content management applications to solving client business problems
Strong presence and confidence, exhibiting maturity of people with at least 10 to 15 years working experience
Solid work ethic with a willingness to work over time to meet client demand
Ability to work independently required, prefer the ability to define a drive a business unit
Experience with formal project management techniques (e.g., formal status reports, budget reconciliation, variance reporting) required
Experience with structured design techniques required
Experience with professional services management a significant plus
