Day-to-day, you’ll work as an integrated member of a development team to plan the documentation strategy for new features and to analyze our existing content for updates that might be needed. As a customer advocate, you’ll also participate in the planning process and help define and refine product requirements. Ultimately, you’ll create, update, and maintain OpenText Exstream user documentation based on prescribed standards and styles, you’ll work with the team to ensure accuracy, and you’ll help manage regular publication of the documentation. You’ll regularly communicate with developers and subject matter experts (SMEs). To support your growth in the role, you’ll proactively develop and maintain product knowledge of both the Exstream software solutions and the authoring tools used for the documentation. This position requires close interaction with other functional groups within Exstream, and expert knowledge of the software documentation principles, tools, standards, and best practices. The position also requires knowledge of documentation testing and localization, software usability principles and testing, and ability to work within Scrum methodology. Along the way, you’ll have guidance from senior writers.
You Are Great At:
In the course of an enhancement, you’ll evaluate documentation requests and create and track relevant user stories and tasks. The primary goal is to create the required product documentation in multiple formats, on time and in accordance with the departmental Style Guide and processes. You’ll need to ensure that the product documentation has been reviewed, approved, packaged, and archived on time and in accordance with the departmental Style Guide and processes, and you’ll test the accuracy and usability of developed documentation. You’ll work with the team to resolve and implement all documentation change requests in a timely manner.
