This Director Product Management role is responsible for the OpenText Life Sciences product suite and works to ensure achievement of strategic goals related to the this portfolio. This individual is an authority in the strategy and development of complex enterprise applications and successfully bringing them to market. This includes roadmap development and delivery, investment strategy, product and pricing strategy, competitive positioning/differentiation and competitive tracking of the products in the marketplace globally.
The Director Product Management is the owner for the Life Sciences suite, ensuring that the products meet target revenue, target margin and market share worldwide.
He/she works closely with R&D, Product Marketing, worldwide Sales and partners to ensure all key aspects of the business are addressed and roll-in as well as roll-out functions are performed successfully. Maintaining key relationships with strategic customers and partners is a key function of the role.
The Director Product Management leads a team of product managers who individually are responsible for their products. As this is an Industry segment, strong emphasis is put on industry knowledge and networking.
This position is accountable for, but not limited to, the following responsibilities:
Develops Solution Strategy and Roadmap for the Life Sciences Suite in line with the corporate strategy
Oversees development, responsible for product delivery according to definition and roadmaps
Responsible for suite / product revenue targets, constantly monitors revenues achievement and investments
Defines, reviews, and differentiates the feature sets of the entire product suite and individual products
Teams up with Product Marketing and Sales, defines pricing and channel strategy worldwide
Works with analysts, subject matter experts and influencers to position product business benefits and value add within the industry
Conducts regular market analysis and demonstrates thorough understanding of technology trends, competitive updates, pricing and user requirements.
Represents OpenText as key stakeholder in strategy and technology conversations
Consults the preparation of all collateral - Product Sheets, Datasheets, Positioning Statements, PR, Customer Presentations, etc.
Takes the role as internal expert as well as external spokesperson and evangelist for the Life Sciences suite and technology
Drives Business Development, Product Roll-Out and Training
Demonstrate a strong customer service orientation, regularly visits customers and customer events worldwide
Responsible for managing the product management team, goal setting, mentoring, coaching and continuous review of team performance. Motivate and inspire team to achieve outstanding results
Up to 30% travel may be required
You are great at:
Strong Life Sciences domain knowledge, industry experience is desired
Technology savvy and able to apply relevant trends to product strategy. Understanding content management space is a plus
Understanding Life Sciences industry requirements and needs
Entrepreneurial, self-motivated, and business oriented
Ability to be an aspiring leader for the group with both strong management and technical leadership
Ability to analyze market and technology trends and assess the optimal course of action

What it takes:
5-10 years relevant experience in the Life Sciences Industry
Demonstrated leadership in Product Management, Professional Services or Product Marketing
Skilled in presentations and discussions with business and technical staff
Accustomed to work in a global environment
Strong communication and presentation skills in English
Masters (Desired), Bachelor (Required)
Willingness to travel globally
