The Opportunity:
The Change Manager role is required to participate and ensure the proper execution of OpenTexts Change Management process according to its published policy and standards. This role will be required to work closely with the IT Lines of Business to ensure all the necessary steps are taken to mitigate the risk of changes to the company’s production environment. The primary goal of the Change Manager is to ensure changes are properly documented and prioritized in compliance with OT’s published Change Management policy and standards. Secondarily, the Change Manager is responsible identifying and implementing lifecycle improvements.

 
This position is responsible and accountable for risk by openly exchanging ideas and opinions, elevating concerns, and personally following policies and procedures as defined. This position is accountable for always doing the right thing for customers and colleagues, and ensures that actions and behaviors drive a positive customer experience. While operating within the company’s risk appetite, this position achieves results by consistently identifying, assessing, managing, monitoring, and reporting risks of all types.


You are great at:
▶ Executes Change Management process tasks in adherence with the Bank’s published policy & standards
▶ Coordinates and manages the Change Management process across IT Lines of Business and suppliers to ensure that change implementations are performed in a responsible, coordinated manner
▶ Escalates risks to management and to the Corporate Change Manager as necessary
▶ Supports the reporting of Change Management metrics and KPIs by ensuring changes are properly documented, prioritized, and closed out accordingly
▶ Assists Change Manager Expert in driving process standardization and improvements
▶ Provides support for the assigned IT Line of Business in complying with the Change Management process and its published standards
▶ Responsible to conduct Post Implementation Reviews (PIRs) and verify that change results are in line with business expectations 
▶ Ensures that changes are properly classified according to urgency, timing, and potential impact
▶ Analyze weekly and monthly reporting to Identify process improvement/efficiencies and works with Change Management Expert and the IT Lines of Business to implement as needed
▶ Responsible to plan/facilitate Change Advisory/Control Boards to ensure risks are documented, mitigated, & minimized and to ensure that proper coordination and communications have taken place.
▶ Responsible to provide approval for changes before production implementation. This is the last line of defense and must be done in accordance with OTs published Change Management policy & standards.

What it takes:

The Change Manager will need proven leadership skills with particular focus on the ability to directly influence, identify and implement improvements based on analytics. This individual must be able to work with people in both technical and business areas, and across multiple functional areas and business units and geographical regions.  The ability to influence others, prioritize tasks, and resolve problems is required.  The Change Manager should be capable of leading meetings with technical and business staff and presenting to senior management.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Knowledge:
  • Service Management processes detailed knowledge including Change, Incident, Problem and Request Management.
  • Broad industry experience for industry standard application software, hardware and networking.
  • Able to lead, troubleshoot and take charge during high activity sessions.
  • Education and Experience:
  • Experience leading geographically distributed and culturally diverse work teams
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Bachelors degree in an IT field or equivalent work experience.

Industry Experience:

5 years in IT with Software, Infrastructure, or Operations. Prior technology experience is desired in application, database, server, network or other IT areas.

Minimum 2 years of experience in working with or exposure to change/release management activities

CERTIFICATIONS
